We are now looking for a global Demand Planning Analyst for Metso Global Logistics Operations to join our Inventory Optimization team, which is part of the Global Inventory Planning function serving Services and Consumables Business Areas. In this position, you will report to the Head of Inventory Optimization.

You will be working with our global Demand Planners, supporting them to acquire the demand information from our Market Areas by providing analytics and range of software solutions to make the demand and forecast data work both efficient and accurate.

You will also have the responsibility to monitor the general demand patterns of selected business line items, to identify interesting demand and forecast patterns and behaviors in large data flow. These findings you would then verify and prioritize and bring up to global inventory planning and other stakeholders. You will have the drive to improve our technology approach to demand and forecast data analytics to improve our forecast accuracy.

As a global Demand Planning Analyst, your role includes:
Screening the demand data flows for selected business line
Identifing demand or forecast patterns that deviate outside expected thresholds
Improving and maintaining the software tools used in demand planning process
Documenting the technical setup and maintaining the solution parameter audit trail
Introducing and improving software-based methods to evaluate datasets and transfer data between key business templates and processes
Performing statistical analysis on demand and forecast data to identify deviations and patterns of interest
Providing recommendations for inventory or forecasting parametrization
Monitoring and reporting the accuracy of the actual forecast vs historical on selected parts scope
Starting or contributing to root cause analysis on patterns of low forecast accuracy
Contributing to the development of respective business metrics/KPI's used to measure demand planning performance
Communicating and working together seamlessly and proactively with the stakeholders
Participating in Global Inventory Planning system monitoring on-call duty service if needed
Participating in development of global demand planning related tools together with planning configuration team and IT
Creating analytic dashboards into planning system and business intelligence reporting tools

To succeed in this position you will have:
Suitable educational background, e.g. M.Sc. or B.Sc. with specializations in Supply Chain / S&OP and S&OE / Master Data Management / Programming / Data Analytics
Minimum few years of relevant work experience in any of the above areas
Relationship and stakeholder management skills are required to succeed in actively engaging different cross functional teams to acquire and share information
Capability to handle larger quantities of information/data is required and strong excel skills
Comfortable with IT systems in general, with track record of learning and adopting new solutions and functionalities to daily work practices
Experience in dedicated planning systems and demand/forecasting tools is a plus
Ability to provide data based summaries on findings and improvement actions
Experience in demand planning processes in sales and operations planning (S&OP) is a plus
Technical skills are a plus, as we are a looking that you would have genuine interest in learning about our mining and construction products that you would be managing in your role
Fluent verbal and written English communication skills are required
