US Vendor Procurement [Mexico]


 

AstraZeneca is seeking a Vendor Associate to join its Global Business Services Commercial Operations team. The successful candidate will report to the Vendor Director in the Omnichannel Operations team, working closing with the US Print Lead and our Vendor Managers.

This role is key to ensuring the US business receives the best possible service from our print vendors, constantly working on cost, efficiency and sustainability improvements. It therefore involves careful management of relationships inside and outside AstraZeneca, harnessing external good practice to meet our business needs.

The role involves working with a broad range of stakeholders, for example, US brand teams, IT, Compliance, Finance and Procurement and offers great networking opportunities.

Core goals for this role focus on vendor performance, customer satisfaction, delivering on business outcomes and driving innovation.

Accountabilities:

Generally, for all 3 Vendors:

  • Act as the main point of contact for the US business, overseeing all US print activity on behalf of US brand teams.
  • Collaborate with Procurement on vendor performance monitoring, reviews and improvement activities / programs, with the aims of enhancing the AZ business and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Support sustainability and cost drive activities.
  • Work with US Print Lead / Vendor Manager on any key major improvement programs
  • Represent the voice of the US business in customer surveys and review meetings.
  • Represent the views of the US business in any contract reviews / extensions.
  • Support and coordinate any compliance related activities.
  • Ensure monthly financial reporting is timely and accurate. Own the repository of reports.
  • Track spend vs budget with our US team. Support any freight calculations.
  • Support the vendors with any Procurement or invoicing related enquiries or issues.
  • Own and maintain any US print related documentation in our platform for vendors.
Then specifically for one US print vendor:
  • Monitor the ‘store’ facilities that our business teams use for any access issues.
  • Monitor our company Workplace “All Things e-Store” page for any issues and support required.
  • Act as the Purchase Order owner for the blanket PO for PPE materials for reps and ensure stock is available.
  • Support any US print related platform changes.
  • Support the piloting of any new service offerings.

Minimum Requirements
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical / healthcare industry, market dynamics and major AZ business drivers
  • Experience of working with Print Vendors in the US, or similar key service vendors in the US.
  • Proven stakeholder management. Demonstrated ability to build credibility and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and facilitate key discussions
  • Demonstrated capability in working collaboratively, strategic thinking and problem solving using communication styles that are appropriate for the situation and stakeholders
  • An agile thinker, open to new ideas and able to quickly design and implement entrepreneurial customer focused solutions
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, often working on projects simultaneously
  • Commercially astute, comfortable with financial and contractual information
  • Analytical and inquisitive
  • Disciplined with a high level of attention to detail
  • Able to conduct analysis and create stakeholder friendly reports to support planning, decision-making and feedback for customers
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Background
  • Experience of Print for Pharma in the US.
  • Experience in Procurement or Finance within pharmaceuticals or healthcare.
  • Marketing services experience (working on asset development with partners and agencies)
  • Experience of working with and managing suppliers / third parties
  • Experience of working with brand teams, IT teams and other key internal business departments.

Positions are open to Mexican Citizens and official residents of Mexico.
Location: Guadalajara (hybrid)
Strong English communication skills required.
