The Canadian Association of Medical Teams Abroad (CAMTA) is a Canadian charity that delivers quality orthopedic medical care to those most in need through medical missions in partnership with a hospital in Quito, Ecuador. This charity, operated by volunteer leaders, is looking to employ an Administrator to help ensure the long-term success and sustainability of this twenty-two-year-old charity. The primary function of the Administrator is to oversee all aspects of administration required for successful CAMTA missions which will include but are not limited to:
· Assuming the administrative and support duties required to organize each Medical Mission Team.
· Traveling with the Medical Mission Team to Quito, Ecuador each year for a two-week period in February/March.
· Fundraising to cover a portion of your travel costs.
· Organizing and ensuring the collection of team member applications, travel forms, medical forms, fundraising dues, professional documentation, and other member-required documentation.
· Assisting with the inventory of warehouse supplies.
· Providing administrative support for CAMTA General Meetings.
· Assisting with membership communication through the CAMTA website, email and general correspondence.
The successful applicant must have excellent computer skills and experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft software. They will also be expected to learn the CAMTA website Content Management System.
This is a part-time role that is seasonal in terms of workload responsibilities. Hours will increase through the fall. The heaviest workload is from November until the trip concludes in March and then drops off to fewer hours through the late spring and summer. An approximate average across the year is estimated at three days per week.
