  • Recognised engineering degree with at least 15 years' experience in infrastructure project management and experience of projects in the marine environment, preferably in the offshore wind industry.
  • The candidate must demonstrate :
o Significant experience in contract management and sub-contractor management,
o Extensive experience of project leadership and management of project teams in all phases of a project
o Experience of managing infrastructure projects in the application and permit phase, ideally in Germany,
o Demonstrate the ability to manage a variety of stakeholders on a global project scale.
o Knowledge of the German offshore wind energy sector is a plus,
o Technical ability to understand projects and operations in the marine environment and the ability to interact with experts.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following qualities:
o Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage multidisciplinary and international teams.
o Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage own workload and deadlines while coordinating a large number of internal and external stakeholders.
o Excellent communication skills enabling effective discussion and transfer of information within the project team and with stakeholders
o Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)

TotalEnergies has been awarded by the Bundesnetzagentur (German Federal Network Agency) two marine concessions and is now seeking his/her Asset Director to locally reinforce its strong Offshore Wind team.

The Asset Director is responsible for the development of offshore wind farm project(s) in Germany. He/she is leading the project team of 35-60 people.

The Asset Director reports to the SPV Board of Directors, manages the project team in the development phase and represents the project with key partners and external stakeholders, to deliver offshore wind projects in accordance with SPV Board guidelines.

The main objective of the position is to establish and manage the project team during the development phase of the offshore wind project(s ). First major milestones are to submit the required documentation for the Plan Approval process by the Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie (“BHS”), to carry out the required site investigations and to secure the supply chain of the main components.

Key responsibilities include :
  • Developing and preparing the project execution plan in accordance with the rules set out in the tender specifications and the commitments made by the SPV in the bid submitted under the German non-pre-investigated site auction, local regulation and TotalEnergies’ standards.
  • Obtaining authorizations and permits required to implement the offshore wind projects
  • Managing communications with key national, regional, and local stakeholders, including representatives of government departments.
  • Providing strong leadership in Health, Social, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ), by defining and ensuring the implementation of the HSSE Policy.
  • Defining and implementing the risk management and control system and monitoring documentation, planning and costs.
  • Preparing and presenting to the Board of Directors, and to the management of TotalEnergies Offshore Wind, the monitoring files and decisions for the Project(s)
  • Ensuring regular reporting on the Project(s) to the Board of Directors and the German government in line with regulatory obligations
  • Structuring and managing the project team and maintaining an organization that enables the project to develop smoothly (defining the scope and responsibilities of each position).
  • Representing the SPV within defined mandates.
