The Assistant Director of Finance will direct report to Director of Finance and responsible to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Finance & Accounting Division, while maintaining Hyatt International's high standards of Financial Management.
Main responsibilities:
Manage the areas of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cost and Revenue Audit and Internal Audit.
- Participate in meetings with Corporate members.
- Prepare and review all month-end reports and review reconciliations
- Responsible for the efficient management of the division with the Board of Directors in accordance with corporate strategies and Hyatt brand standards.
- Review preliminary financial statements with Director of Finance
- Participate in monthly financial reviews and assist Director of Finance with the presentation of these reports.
- Assist Director of Finance with supervising Finance staff of the hotel including coaching and counseling associates to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures, interviewing, training and evaluating performance of staff.
- Manage and help oversee hotel on-site Finance functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting and analysis for the hotel. This responsibility also includes hotel financial planning, budgeting, Finance and cash management.
- Systems administration, G/L account reconciliations certification, forecast preparations, monthly closings and full P&L responsibility.
- Work with the hotels capital budget reconciliation and reporting system
- Review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers. Participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance.
- Help prepare all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department staff in this process. Take initiative to manage trouble shooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement
Qualificações
- Experience of more than 8 years in the finance area
- Hospitality experience
- Experience with Team Management
- Excellent analytical skills with an established history of driving results
- Availability of schedules and trips
- Education in Accounting, Economics or Administration
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
