The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Child Support Services is seeking to hire a highly qualified and motivated professional to join our CARU Lawsuit Liens team in the role of Child Support Trainee. The candidate will participate in an agency sponsored training program for twelve months receiving training designed to develop knowledge and understanding of the Child Support Services program and its policies and processes. Additionally, the candidate will receive training learning the process to interpret and review child support orders. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills to be successful in performing the operations of the CARU Lawsuit Liens team.

Job Responsibilities
- Participates in an agency-sponsored child support services training program
- Manages the establishment, modification, and enforcement of court orders
- Interprets and reviews support orders, both judicial and administrative, for case review and entry into the system
- Resolves customer service issues in a Call Center environment through direct customer contact or with other state agencies, legal partners, etc., by phone, written correspondence, and e-mail
- Gathers data via face-to-face interviews and other sources and/or reviews and prepares petitions, including those from other IV-D agencies/jurisdictions for Custodial Parents (CPs)
- Calculates financial obligations and support balances related to child support accounts
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires education and experience equivalent to four years of college with coursework in psychology, sociology, social welfare, business administration, or finance or equivalent educational attainment in a related field; or, education and experience equivalent to two years of college with a minimum of eight semester hours in finance and four years of experience in the Child Support Enforcement program area; or, eight years of experience performing paraprofessional functions in the Child support enforcement program area.

- Requires the ability to pass a national background check prior to employment due to accessing confidential tax information.
- Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop.
