Our Profile

We are looking for you as a student assistant to strengthen our team in the area of data engineering for medical applications. The department Model-Based Systems at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering WZL at RWTH Aachen University deals with the application of metrological principles and sensor technology during medical processes, such as minimally invasive operations. Sensors developed in-house are used to record process states, for example to safeguard a drilling process for cochlear implantation. The intraoperatively recorded process data are analyzed with machine learning algorithms. Derived findings are communicated ergonomically to the surgeon to safeguard medical interventions, e.g. in the form of intraoperative temperature management for medical drilling processes.
