About the role

We are seeking an experienced WHS and Wellbeing Manage to contribute to making a positive organisational difference and who is committed to continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for Partnering with the business to create a proactive culture of work health and safety (WHS) and wellbeing as well as Developing strategies, policies and initiatives to improve the health, safety, and wellbeing of workers. You will also be responsible for managing Sunnyfield's injury prevention and workers' compensation programs, including loss prevention and return to work initiatives. You will play an active role in implementing Sunnyfield's risk management framework.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor, review and enhance Sunnyfield’s Work, Health, and Safety (WHS) and wellbeing strategy and framework to improve the organisation’s Work, Health & Safety culture, and to reduce workplace injuries.
  • Partner with business leaders and specialist teams to identify hazards and develop solutions relating to worker and visitor safety.
  • Identify key risks and develop mitigating control measures, including for critical incident management, and psychosocial hazards.
  • Proactively manage Sunnyfield’s NSW Workers Compensation Loss Prevention & Recovery (LPR) Model for workers’ compensation and injury management.
  • Proactively manage Sunnyfield’s Return to Work Program, in partnership with business managers and the Return-to-Work Coordinator (Beneco).
  • Provide input for the design / delivery of WHS and wellbeing learning programs, tools, and guides, including face to face training and online eLearning modules, partnering with the People, Learning and Culture (PLC) team, when required.
  • Coach, support and provide advice to business leaders to identify key areas of risk, implement policies, programs, and tools, promote compliance, and optimise effective outcomes for Sunnyfield, workers and clients.
  • Maintain currency of knowledge of legislation, policy, accreditation standards and best practice in relation to WHS, wellbeing and support Sunnyfield to maintain compliance.
  • Create learning and guidance materials to support leaders, employees, and others to understand and promote wellbeing to improve outcomes for employees.
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement innovative programs that promote wellbeing across Sunnyfield.
  • Complete documentation and reporting to allow wellbeing program delivery outcomes to be evaluated and monitored.
  • Provide reporting and relevant documentation within Sunnyfield and meet relevant legislative and regulatory reporting.
  • Maintain, develop, and implement WH&S policies, procedures and training to promote a safety culture for workers and optimise safe and effective services and supports for clients in partnership with business leaders and specialists.
  • In partnership with the Senior Risk & Compliance Manager, improve, monitor, and review the Sunnyfield Emergency Management Plan and program, supporting leaders and staff across the organisation to implement the program.
  • Follow, contribute, and work in a culture committed to continuous improvement through active participation in quality and workplace safety initiatives, and the identification of risk areas for improvement.


About You

  • Experience designing and delivering WHS and wellbeing strategies
  • Experience partnering and collaborating with key stakeholders across the business to identify areas of risk, understand causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience in improving WHS, return to work coordination and Workers' Compensation
  • Proven experience in leading organisational risk reduction initiatives
  • Solid understanding of WHS and Worker's Compensation legislation
  • Experience in risk management and compliance
  • Tertiary qualifications in safety, WHS, risk management or similar
